When AB De Villiers retires many feel that South Africa may have found themselves in a spot of bother for both a dynamic, explosive batsman as well as a steady and reliant wicket-keeper. Maybe their fears are misplaced when you look at the form of Ricardo Vasoncelos. The 18-year-old South African impressed with both bat and gloves in the recent Test Series against Sri Lanka Under-19s. he averaged 33.8 across his 5 innings. His 78* in the middle test saw Laurence Mahatlane promote him to open for the final test where he scored 53 and 16.

Still very much in an embryonic state but an exciting talent to keep an eye on.
"It has been said of the unseen army of the dead, on their everlasting march, that when they are passing a rural cricket ground the Englishman falls out of the ranks for a moment to look over the gate and smile."
