September Domestic Player of the Month

It is always good to celebrate a player whose performances have allowed their team to achieve something. There are many teams in both Divisions of the County Championship who can be very pleased with their campaign so it is rather counterintuitive that my Domestic Player of the Month comes from a team whose season was a disappointment.

At the beginning of the month Durham were staring relegation in the face but the performances of Keaton Jennings kept them up with a game to spare. In September he scored 286 runs with his stand out performance being his 201* v Surrey that sealed Durham's retention in the league. He also cropped up with a rare wicket in the same game.

Any other contenders?

Extremely difficult to select because the afforementioned players have played some very special innings. Whether it's Rob Jones scoring a century with Lancashire 8-4. Chris Rogers scoring a century in both innings and retiring on a high, Tim Bresnan's valiant heroics for Yorkshire, Nick Gubbins dogged determination to help Middlesex win the title, Toby Roland-Jones winning Middlesex the County Championship with a hat-trick, Jake Ball having a huge say in the title race and Jack Leach twirling his way to a potential maiden Championship crown for Somerset.

Even with my Yorkshire bias it is hard to pick :D
