Only T20I. AB De Villiers is a better ODI batsman IMO.

Looking at records from this year, Kohli averages 100 in ODIs, 106 in T20is and 69 in Test cricket.

Hard to argue that he's not the best batsman across all forms of cricket this year.

Kohli has the potential to be the best in all 3 formats, IMHO, but currently I'd have him tops in T20I's & ODI's.

He's had too little opportunity to justify that in Tests though. Best batter might be someone who has proved himself in an away series, but VK has had one tour of WI, where he made a double ton and otherwise didn't pass fifty in the other games. Nothing wrong with that, but he could do with more chances to excel in different conditions

Will have plenty of oppurtunites next year 18 months of away cricket on his way did well in SA and aus plus nz last away cycle which should be noted only failed In England.
The way he plays can only actually see England Troubling him and kohli personality plus attidute is likely to make him score bucket loads in England as well.
Kohli is a fighter you have to give him that.
Don't like depending on him though since he still looks flaky to me reminds me of kp for England a player that can play special innings but not turn up in some series or games.
Depends if India can afford that overseas.

Off topic but so annoying how India the only nation that get a crazy cycle of constant home games and a constant away games.
The big series really need to be spread out, why anyone thought it is smart to have England Australia back to back needs to be shot.
Bad for tv, viewers, fans and players
Australia series alone will suffer from fatigue, too much cricket and not much build up.
It works ok for the away leg because of the spread between July and December but not the India leg of it.
Plus must be mentally tough for the players to play 12 months of tough away cricket in one season.

Imagine England playing India, Pakistan and India plus Pakistan all in 12 months away from home.
Didn't mention Sri Lanka since India doesn't really get any easy opposition either on their constant away travels year, nz probably the easiest opposition.
