November T20 Player of the Month

Postby The Professor » Wed Nov 30, 2016 8:49 pm

T20 excellence this month has come in all forms. Men and women. International and Domestic. Not many well known but decent efforts all round.

Panna Ghosh (Bangladesh Women)

Bangladesh have been the surprise package of the Asia Cup and their tight bowling has been key to this. Ghosh's tight economical bowling came to the forefront in her 4-9 v Thailand.

Fahima Khatun (Bangladesh Women)

Another Bangladeshi bowler who has excelled this month and another great performance with low economy. Her 4-8 v Nepal was her month's highlight.

Mahmudullah (Khulna)

Mahmudullah has been an inspirational captain in the Bangladesh Premier League this season. He has performed with both bat and ball - totalling 279 in ten matches with the former and averaging 17.6 with the other.

Shoaib Malik (Chittagong)

Malik has been a sporadic inclusion to the Chittagong squad of late but his performances early in the month were destructive. 178 runs across six games is not to be sniffed at, nor is his top score of 63 v Barisal.

Mohammad Nabi (Comilla)

Allrounders have been the order of the day in the Bangladesh Premier League and Nabi has been one of the finest. His top score the bat was 87* vs Rajshahi whilst he has claimed an impressive 17 wickets across his ten games.

Samit Patel (Rajshahi)

The forgotten man of England cricket has been proving his worth in the Bangladesh Premier League. His best innings with the bat came with his 75 against Dhaka whilst with the ball he bagged 2/20 against the same opposition.

Ziaur Rahman (Rangpur)

A sporadic performer for Rangpur in the Bangladesh Premier League but a spectacular 60 runs with 2 wickets seems him make the shortlist.

Darren Sammy (Rajshahi)

Another Rajshahi allrounder on the list. Sammy' most impressive performance came against Khulna where he bagged 71 runs and a wicket.

Makoto Taniyama (Japan)

Six T20 games in six games was an intense period for Taniyama but his economy with the ball was a good reward. Seven wickets at an average of 16.1 is very decent in T20 - as was his best figures of 3/5 against the Hong Kong Dragons.
"It has been said of the unseen army of the dead, on their everlasting march, that when they are passing a rural cricket ground the Englishman falls out of the ranks for a moment to look over the gate and smile."

Nice to hear Big Sam is doing well. I heard Dawson (just called up for the England Test team) has been playing in the BD league.
I always say that everybody's right.
