As the England coach has said they want Cook to continue, there is only much to discuss if Cook wants to quit.

! expect a typical fudge, he'll continue for the summer test when a final decision will be made. One thing is I believe certain that he will be gone this time next year after the ashes.

A news report says that Cook and Strauss haven't met, will meet tomorrow, but won't discuss the captaincy...

He's going to hang on and if the ODI team get thrashed his resolve to remain will strengthen. After all if the great ODI team can't win in India why blame him if the Test team can't either.

If Cook decides to stay, presumably until the Ashes, what would it take against SA for that decision to appear to appear indefensible? This would be a situation similar to the build up to the WC in Aus/NZ when Cook was determined to carry on, but was eventually forced out in an effort to give the side a little late impetus. If Cook stays on, and England lose 3-0 (at home) could he continue? Presumably England will beat WI.
