Many a fine match of Test cricket was played in the Month of December. Please feel free to pick your player of the month from the below.

Virat Kohli (India)

Fresh off winning November's Test Player of the Month, Kohli's form in December has been equally as electric. Only being asked to bat twice in the two Test matches he posted a career best 235 and a slightly more underwhelming 18.

Keaton Jennings (England)

An illustrious debut for the Durham man...followed up by some not quite so illustrious latter innings. Irregardless of this he finishes his debut tour (or half a tour) on an average of 41.75 from his two matches.

Karun Nair (India)

If Kohli makes the shortlist for a huge score and an underwhelming one, then Nair deserves his berth too. The newcomer made 303* in the final Test against England to couple with his 13 from the Fourth Test.

Mitchell Starc (Australia)

The evergreen Baggy Green has been in scintillating form in December and has bagged 12 wickets at an average of 28.58. He also chipped in with a very helpful 84 runs in the Second Test to lead Australia to an unlikely victory.

David Warner (Australia)

The calendar year is usually bookended with decent Warner performances and 2016 has been no different. The pugnacious Aussie scored 188 Test runs in December, is top score coming from the most recent Test against Pakistan where he bagged 144.

Voted for Kohli. Probably would have gone for Ashwin next. Du Plessis? Or was he last month?
