Some established subcontinental names peppered throughout this ODI list as well as some emerging talents to keep an eye on.

Dipendra Airee (Nepal Under 19s)

The sixteen year old only played three matches for Nepal Under 19s in the Under 19 Asia Cup but impressed in them all. Across the three games he scored 146 runs and got three wickets at an average of 29.

Neil Broom (New Zealand)

If you can't teach an old dog new tricks you may be able to use those old tricks to your advantage. Broom's return to the national side has seen him score 228 runs in three matches - an average of 76

Rahul Chahar (India Under 19s)

Chahar was one of the most dependable bowlers in India Under 19s successful defence of the Under 19 Asia Cup. He got ten wickets across the 4 games he played, averaging a stunningly low 8.3.

Oldreive Declan (Zimbabwe Under 19s)

A spectacular run of form sees the Zimbabwean sixteen year old featuring in both the ODI and T20 shortlist. Throughout the series with Namibia Under 19s he got 6 wickets at an average of 24.5.

Praveen Jayawickrama (Sri Lanka Under 19s)

One of the most well thought of members of a very well thought of Sri Lankan Under 19 side, Jayawickrama had a very good Under 19 Asia Cup campaign. He got ten wickets over the tournament at an average of 14.2.

Trent Jayden (Zimbabwe Under 19s)

Another Zimbabwean talent to keep a very close eye on. He scored three centuries in the five match series against Namibia Under 19s takin his overall run tally for the series to 333.

Tom Latham (New Zealand)

Latham has bounced back from not being selected for the Australia series by scoring 163 runs in three matches against Bangladesh. His top score in December was 137 on Boxing Day.

Lohan Louwrens (Namibia Under 19s)

The Namibian allrounder (not the only one on this list, would you believe) excelled in the fourth match of the series against Zimbabwe Under 19s. He top scored with 112* with bowling figures of 4/14.

Abhishek Sharma (India Under 19s)

The captain of the champions of the Under 19 Asia Cup obviously has a lot to be proud of from the month of December. Contributing with both ball and bat, he got eight wickets at an average of 18.4 and scored 124 runs at an average of 24.8.

Virandeep Singh (Malaysia Under 19s)

The Malaysian seventeen year old impressed with 98 runs across the three matches he played. In the same time he also got 5 wickets at an economy of 20.8.

Steve Smith (Australia)

The Australia captain had a good month overall but kick started it with two very throng performances against New Zealand. In the three match series he scored a cumulative 237 runs - top scoring with 164 in the first match.

Naveen-up-Haq (Afghanistan Under 19s)

The seventeen year old bowler was another young man to impress with the ball in the Under 19 Asia Cup. He got 9 wickets across four matches, averaging 20.9.

Albert van der Merwe (Namibia Under 19s)

The Namibian 18 year old showed off his all round skills early in December with a haul of 77 runs and 4-63 in the opening match of the series v Zimbabwe Under 19s. In that series he got 184 runs in the five matches and dismissed 6 batsmen.

I've known most of the Malaysian team for a few years but get on with Virandeep the best.

Most of the cricketers are playing better than before because of more competitions and matches. They can see others' playing style on simulators and improve their game. I think Virat Kohli performed very well in ODIs.
