I get the feeling that Head, Mitch and Maxwell will both be in the touring party with Head getting the nod for the team.

Head's not in the squad.

Glenn Maxwell is in. He'll be the man at 6. No Hilton Cartwright in the squad.

Aus lost test more badly than England when they toured here last.

Will he , though ? If they're playing Lyon and O'Keefe , surely they'll need a third seamer (M Marsh) ?

I think that was discussed at some length, and with some vigour, by a few members.

Considering Australia picked more spinners than seamers in the squad, i'd so they'd go with 3 spinners.

actually think australia would do better just because of the stadiums used.
Pune and dharamasala might not suit india much if kumble/kohli keep the promise of natural pitches.

Seeing as how well that worked for England :)

Maybe. Good luck but it wouldn't be my choice.

maxwell not being used as a bowler again today must throw doubt about his chances of being the 5th bowler in the test side

So why did Australia pick Hilton Cartwright for that last test :hmmm

Just shows how muddled the thinking of Australian selectors is.

Great Idea to take Swepson, but Australia please don't destroy his career before its even started.

The Australian bats wont make enough runs, so Australia will drop one of the spinners to bring in Agar after the first test.

So it will either be Marsh or Maxwell at 6 then. Wade at 7.

Marsh injured, bad shoulder, cartwright could get back in

Think they might well be looking at someone who can bowl much better at 6.

Guess it makes Maxwell a certain starter. Perhaps when they want a third seamer they will drop a spin bowler to accomidate? Hopefully we wont see Agar batting at 7 with wade moved to 6 :panic

sorry for repeating myself here but does Smith's reluctance to use Maxwell as a bowler in the ODIs not suggest they dont consider his bowling to be a strength ?

different conditions i know but Head has been used to bowl quite a few overs
