how dare he be late packing his bags and be more worried about the cricket than off-field logistics ...

I remember Kp saying in his book that anyone who was a bit flippant to Giles Clarke would get a telling off. So you've got to be careful.

I see Bell is battling it out as a front runner, all he needs is a yes vote from rich to clinch it.

Or he could vote for KP and send a message to the ECB.

Bell or KP? Similar to Clinton or Trump!

Maybe one as skipper, the other as VC?

Which one is Trump and which Hillary?

They'd be CMS protests if either got the job.

I wouldn't be able to stop laughing for weeks. If it were Bell rich would be rushed to intensive care.

Especially if Bopara was made VC!

if we are entering the realms of fantasy i think my reaction to bell being made captain would be a bit lower on the richter scale to what would happen on here if it was KP

I'm not sure it could be such a good thing to not make Joe Root captain after indicating so emphatically that he would be next. It has the potential to cause antagonism in the side. I suppose some process has to be followed, but surely this decision has already been made.

Root is the obvious choice but he only looks 12 years old.

The ECB don't necessarily do obvious choices and have made some bolt of the blue decisions in recent years.

Flower and KP get binned, only for the former to be replaced by no other than Peter Moores.
ECB publically declare Jason Gillespie to replace Peter Moores, only to interview him and then appoint Trevor Bayliss.
Gary Ballance gets a surprise England recall, despite inconsistent form with the red ball.

Whenever England appoint a test captain, usually that player has recently captained the ODI side and Root has yet to do that.
