Postby The Professor » Sun Apr 30, 2017 8:56 pm

As is often the case at this time of year it is mainly IPL offerings but there are a smattering of internationals to sleeve from.

Shakib Al Hasan (Bangladesh and Kolkata)

Shakib hasn't really set the IPL alight this season but began the month with some sturdy performances for Bangladesh. He scored 49 runs in his two international outings. His best day out was his 38 plus 3-24 in the final T20 v Sri Lanka.

Hashim Amla (Punjab)

Amla has suffered criticism for Punjab this season but his statistics belie this. He has scored 315 runs in his eight innings - averaging 39.38. His best innings was 104* v Mumbai.

Amjad Javed (UAE)

The veteran Cricketer and part time baggage handler had another good month for the team which he used to helm. He returned from injury to bag six wickets in his three T20s against Papua New Guinea. His best returns came from his first T20 where he got 3-12.

Bhuvenshwar Kumar (Hyderabad)

The reliable Indian has continued his fine IPL form into 2017. He has bagged 20 wickets at an average of 11.6. His best figures came against Punjab where he got 5-19.

Chris Morris (Delhi)

The allround skills of Morris have come to the fore for Delhi once more. He has impressed most with the ball where he has claimed 12 wickets at an average of 17. He has also performed well with the bat with his 52* against Mumbai his best yield.

Sanju Samson (Delhi)

The Indian has begun this season's IPL in fine fettle and has drawn many plaudits for his performances. Without a shadow of a doubt his 102 against Pune was his finest hour. All in all he has scored 289 runs in his eight IPL games this month - an average of 36.13.

Yuvraj Singh (Hyderabad)

The comeback kid has continued his feel-good story of 2017 with some decent turnouts for Hyderabad. His best score was 62 against Bangalore. He totals 117 from his seven matches.

Ben Stokes (Pune)

Whilst Stokes' tenure with Pune hasn't been as dynamic as had hoped he has still impressed. He has six wickets to his name with his best figures coming against Bangalore where he got 3-18. He has also scored 127 runs.

Andrew Tye (Gujarat)

The Australian T20 specialist has been the leading light for Gujarat in 2017. Before injury brought a premature end to his season he had claimed 13 wickets at an average of 10.8. His best results were 5-17 v Pune.
"It has been said of the unseen army of the dead, on their everlasting march, that when they are passing a rural cricket ground the Englishman falls out of the ranks for a moment to look over the gate and smile."
