Ashes selection: Pace Bowlers.

This is the Ashes selection meeting for the tour to Australia this winter. First of all we need to pick five pace bowlers (I'll include Ben Stokes in among the batters giving us a probably sixth).

Decided to leave out James Anderson. I've gone for a few pace options with Plunkett and Wood (nearly took Footitt but he was an injury risk too far). I'm hoping R.Jones might get a cap before the winter, as the current stand out bowler in CC. Woakes and Broad survive.

All a bit speculative at the moment. Taken Coad but that might change if another young bowler impresses and Coad fades. Also gone for Wood but very injury and comeback dependent.

Might be a Lions squad to back up the injury risks.

assuming everyone is fit i think anderson, broad, woakes and wood are certainties so that leaves one free spot

ball probably the front runner but Overton has been around the fringes of the discussion and has made a decent start to the season so i plumped for him, Coad obviously the big talking point so far and England have shown a willingness to pick someone with only really one season of FC cricket behind them when they picked Hameed last year so if he can even stay close to maintaining the sort of start he had you never know

Last time Emgland stocked up on tall pace bowlers, and while they lost 5-0, I can't believe they will totally give up on that option. I think they'll take someone as an option to test the batters short of a length, Tremlett style. But Hoggard did ok with fairly floaty swing (while also losing 5-0) so variety is needed.

Voting available at top of thread.

No David Willey!

Went with usual suspects and Coad.

Nearly put Brooks down as a choice but it looks like he'll miss a lot of this season.
