I honestly don't think Hussey is that sort of a person. I still maintain, if he was always going to retire, he'd have intimated the selectors.

I can't help but feel that Clarke is not getting the same amount of flak from people as Arthur (not necessarily you) because of his personal form.

you just want there to be a controversial reason for it shanks

there was no evidence whatsoever that there has been any rift between hussey and clarke

and so what if it appeared sudden , trust me when you hit your late 30s your priorities change and the prospect of spending every day in the gym or in the nets to stay fit enough for top level sport would get harder and harder to motivate yourself for as well as the prospect of spending almost a solid 8 months away from a young family

we always talk about sportsmen hanging on too long and that they should retire before the decline sets in , i trust hussey from his reputation and the way hes always played the game to know himself when the time was right for him to go

i can think of no reason from a professional, cricketing or political perspective that would suggest clarke would want rid of hussey and you have not even suggested anything that would back up that was remotely possible

What's your opinion on the moon landing's shanky?

No, Hussey's retirement did seem a little sudden, however it was probably a case of I'm getting to old for this sh.t

I read somewhere recently that Clarke is involved in Al Quaeda? Maybe far fetched, but there may be something in this????? Watson was the CIA man in the Aussie dressing room. I guess this was always going to happen at some point. I hear Hussey saw the writing on the wall and got out while he could. Makes sense.

Hussey (ex-MI6) - god, how we miss him - clearly stated on announcing his retirement, that he realised that he was dreading the idea of the India Tour, rather than looking forward to it like he had with all other tours. That's when he knew it was time to give it away.

Sounds very plausible to me, especially taking into consideration that he has four kids, aged about 12 and under. I have one less kid, around the same ages, and I would hate to be away from them for months at a time.

There had been no evidence, not even rumour of evidence, of Hussey and Clarke having any falling out - before Twatto got himself into trouble - but he does have a large stockpile of aluminum foil at home though........

There was a story on the Guardian site (below the line) about Hussey being asked how he wanted to mark his retirement, and saying he wanted to share a few drinks in the dressing room with the players. So without consulting anyone, Clarke arranged a party on Packer jrs yacht. Hussey and a few other players (Siddle) wouldn't go to this do, and Clarke said it it was an official CA event and everyone had to go.

I don't know if this is true, or if it means anything. If anything, Clarke was making a big deal out of Mr Cricket's retirement, however heavy handed. I offer it only as the only thing I have heard about any possible antagonism.

not a good stat for Clarke. But, averaging 47, I would hardly call him Jadeja's "bunny".

Yes agreed that he's doing his job before getting out to Jadeja. However, now i can see Dhoni getting Jadeja as soon as Clarke comes to bat, the way Yuvi gets to bowl once KP comes to bat against us in ODI's.
