So instead of getting a broken arm, he scored a broken rib. The England team management should have come clean on that, and replaced him in the squad. If this is an example of how the Poms operated during the Ashes, it isn't any wonder that they had their @r$e$ handed to them on a plate.

Good for the Afghanis, but bad for Aus on two fronts - not only an embarrassing and awkward loss, but I also read that Australia's coach is Graeme Hick.

As this very round of Sheffield Shield is CA's big test of day/night first class cricket with the pink ball, you;d think that they would wait until evaluating the success or otherwise of this before committing to a test under the same conditions.

Interesting interview with (former umpire) John Holder, particularly his comments about reporting ball tampering by England in 1991. That would be the 2-2 series. He feels Graham Gooch got him removed from the home Test umpire list after that. Certainly he didn't umpire for a while. Critical of Bob Willis' commentary.
