Wow. Really is a shame as i enjoyed watching him but at the end of the day, rules are rules and he was clearly bowling illegally.

ICC recently changed the chucking rules which meant he and others (Senanayake, Williamson, Shillingford - possibly Utseya, Gazi) are now over the limit.

I'm probably wrong but i think it used to be just bowling with an arm at 15 degrees but now it's all about the 15 degrees of flex/straightening.

Changing the rules to outlaw current players sounds like a legal nightmare. Not that Ajmal ever bowled within 15 degrees.

It was always about flex. I remember Dave Richardson talking about it.

I'm not sure what the difference in the rules now is (if there is one). Maybe the ICC are just being more serious about chucking as they've now reported 6 or 7 in the last year.

The rules haven't changed just being applied correctly. The team that comes behind Worcestershire in the CC Div 2 will be miffed.

given the margins that he has been exceeding the 15 degree tolerance are so large then I refuse to believe he wasn't aware he was chucking tbh

and in my book that's just blatant cheating , knowing you are breaking the rules and doing it to gain an unfair advantage

Srini moves to the top of ICC. Lots of players get banned for chucking.

India to play Pakistan next year without Ajmal, India have a better chance of winning.

Makes sense to all conspiracists lol.

But seriously, it's odd that they've suddenly cracked down, a bit late if anything and also a bit of a shame.

Sky did a piece on chucking and the 15 degree limit is so small. Hardly any leeway for bowlers. Wouldn't surprise me if a lot more spinners are reported.
