Has to be the greatest batsmen of his generation and that is some feat considering he played in a era that included lara and ponting plus several of his own team mates who have also stamped there own mark in history.

Its been a pleasure to watch him and i only hope when he does go he goes before his talents fade.

Hoggard described Tendulkar’s feat on the wireless this afternoon and said that he was a “good batter”, that class is permanent, form is temporary and South Africa met a class batsman in good form.

All true, of course, but Hoggard was rather effusive in his praise, I thought. The highest compliment a Yorkshireman should ever pay is “not bad”.
