The league will feed into a semi final. All ten will play each other. The WC will be slightly longer than this and there won't be two games in a day.

Very readable Tour Diary of George Dobell's on Cricinfo. http://www.espncricinfo.com/magazine/content/story/834257.html

I liked his second last paragraph especially.

News that Milliband will knight Boycott could swing the election to the Tories.

Dobell using that welcome board as an excuse to take a photo of the blonde woman.

Boycott wont get a knighthood because of the decision of the French court. Something he brings up every time the honours announcements are made.

Don't know if he does a lot of charity work. That's often a way in.

Boycott has quite a lot in the debit column.

Just came across this scorecard: http://www.espncricinfo.com/dlfcup/engi ... 56612.html

The West Indian XI is one of the strangest i've ever seen!

Brian Lara at 9, Gayle at 6 and only one specialist bowler selected!

Disappointed with Dobell article on Cricinfo.
I know it was an exclusive piece but not sure why he had to mention, Test might be 4 days and 40 overs especially since it is very unlikely ICC or BCCI would even accept the proposals.
Could have made it more clear that ICC had to accept them or kind of give the impression that it is likely to be rejected like Berry did at the Telegraph.
Berry wrote a far better article especially on the 50 over format.
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/cricke ... onals.html
BCCI would never agree to days or overs of cricket getting scrapped.

Can't see many of the international changes happening of course the domestic ones might happen, but Test and odi would still be 5 days and 50 overs can't see any changes on that.

Good journalism requires reporting all of the details, including the potential changes to international cricket.

As noted on the thread about this report in the Domestic Cricket section, the report is clearly just the ECB putting all possible ideas on the table, not all of which are realistic or in anyway likely to be implamented.

Agree on that Making Spinters.
Agree with the person that said the article had a whiff scaremongering.
Just thought the article could have been more clearer crazy how many people in twitter and around the place thought all the places were actually gonna happen which is why I thought Dobell could have made it more clearer it was just ideas on the table and most would not be implemented like others wrote in the Evening.

I will post my second paragraph on the domestic thread since it is more relevant there.

Dobell does not say that anything is being implamented, nor does he give any impression that these are anything but ideas.

Typical if ODIs became 40 overs after we recently decided to go back to 50.
