I see Peter Moores has been talking about ODI cricket and once again the name of Hales crops up but surely it's time to look far wider than than Hales and those already tried. I'm not familiar with many of the ODI specialists in the CC but I'm sure there must be others worthy of consideration, Vince and Willey spring to mind and they also offer bowling options.

Don't believe Willey is bowling yet.
Would love to see England try a top 3 of Hales, Bell and Vince. Willey would probably struggle to make the top order, so much depends on his bowling.

Probably the wrong thread for this, but Lloyd has just said that Lyth should open with Cook in the first test against Sri Lanka.

David Wainwright with a game changing century, followed by a 5-fer in the 2nd innings against Leicesteshire.
Get him in the 2nd test!

Ton for Lyth in an otherwise disastrous Yorks batting card. If there was an opening spot available...

On Cricket Writers on TV this morning they got an email suggesting Rob Key should come in as England captain.
I didn't hear who sent that in but I presume it was from Key's mother.

Retired hurt. Not getting in the selector's face I'm afraid.

I wouldn't pick him if he'd scored 300.

Pick him and Samit and make a big point about moving away from the Flower methods.
