Canada have also started making steps forward instead of back with a multi format national league. For years Canada have been in and about the top associates but for a variety of reasons they've stagnated instead of moving forward. I still feel though that they miss the quality of a player like John Davison. He could bat and bowl and added some threat to an otherwise average side. The potential is there but they seem to have been standing still instead of moving with it for the last few years.

I don't think a rule for ex-pats would work. As long as all of the players are qualified for the country they are representing then there isn't a problem for me.

I agree with this, which is why I've never had a problem with England's foreign legion. My policy has always been that if a cricketer is wearing the three lions of England, shoot to kill! :gun

:dance Were very close to beating Denmark as well but the Danes just scraped over the line. In this match an excllent hundred from Madhavan guided the home side to an easy win. On the whole a disappointing tournament that has resulted in relegation back to Division 5. 2 steps forward, 1 step back. We're gradually getting there although by the time we make it up to the top divisions ODIs will probably be scrapped. :|

Nepal and Singapore are promoted to Division 3. Denmark and USA will remain in Division 4. Malaysia and Tanzania will drop down to Division 5.

My 2 players of the tournament are both from Nepal.

Their big name player Shakti Gauchan didn't disappoint. The leg spinner took 8 wickets at a brilliant average of 9.37 and had an amazing ecoming of just 2! His star performance was picking up incredible figures of 3/2 in 10 overs, including 8 maidens, against Malaysia!

The other player is their seamer Basanta Regmi who finished as the leading wicket taker with 16 wickets! Regmi finished with an average of just 7.50 and was also very economical, conceding just 2.95 an over. His best effort was taking 5/35 against USA!

Actually it's USA who got promoted and not Singapore. USA had a better net run rate.

The 2012 ICC World Cricket League Division 8 takes place this week on the Pacific island of Samoa. Eight teams will be battling it out, with promotion to division 7 going to the top 2 finishers, and relegation to regional comps for the bottom 4!

Group A: Norway, Vanuatu, Ghana, Samoa
Group B; Japan, Suriname, Bhutan, Belgium

Norway (ranked 41) and Japan (ranked 42) will be the two favourites. The action promises to be unforgetable!

Norway lost again! :o This time to Samoa.

http://www.espncricinfo.com/wcldiv8-2012/engine/current/match/579742.html

Ben Mailata seems to have done most of the damage for the hosts, top scoring with a swashbuckling 79 not out, then picking up 4 wickets in less than 4 overs!

I'm guessing that the Norwegians will be carrying out a major review of the way cricket is run in their country, following such a disappointing start to this competition!

Norway have fallen to their third defeat in a row, this time to Ghana!

http://www.espncricinfo.com/wcldiv8-2012/engine/current/match/579748.html

How the mighty have fallen! I predcited the Norwegians to clean up in this comp, but instead they have have been cleaned up! :no
