Nor can I, Albondiga. To 'discuss' the same thing for nearly four months implies that there are those with nothing better to do.

Personally, I'm interested simply because it has never been explained. The reasons for KPs sacking will show exactly what Cook and Downton expect from players, and would cast light on any future issues. A player like Stokes for example has had several disciplinary issues already in his career.

A good point MS. Stokes hasn't just had previous with England. He was also in trouble with the law a couple of years back during the county off-season. He is a hot-head, but a talented hot-head. Leopards rarely change their spots and his fiery nature is part of his character. The ECB may set a dangerous precedent if they get rid of players who don't conform.

Again, there is no relevant comparison between them, either in the nature of their offences or in the maturity of their years.

Do they have to be? An altercation with a policeman is more serious than sending texts to opponents in the grander scheme of things. In the past the then TCCB (now the ECB) didn't sack an England captain for having a blazing row with an umpire in the middle of a test match but later did so when he took a barmaid into his hotel room.

KP has been a silly boy on many occasions, he seems to forget that people are very interested in everything he does and says, far more than Richard Scudamore. It amazes me, that people in the public eye still fail to grasp that they must be so careful in what they write and say. Sooner or later if there is something controversial it will be found out.
D/L, I won't go as far as some, but you do seem to pick and choose your opinions about various people based much more on your feelings about the individual firstly, rather than their actions as a distant second. I'm sure we are all guilty of this, to some extent, so please don't be offended, but it makes reading your comments about Pietersen for example rather difficult at times. I have laughed at some of them too though, it's not all bad, some of your comments are very funny.
For me I think KP was a breath of fresh air and helped us all to feel great about English cricket again, along with the rest of that team after years of domination by the Aussies. I saw him hit a century against Sussex in a really exciting 40 over game that finished tied. A huge crowd was there to see it, because most wanted to see him bat. What an innings he played that day, even though it was our greatest rivals it was worth it to see a master of the game.

I am 99.999999% sure he NEVER scored a List A ton for Hants vs Sussex.

He ran in from the boundary to a skier and it landed more or less where he'd started from, it got the biggest cheer of the day. He had his arms spread up like a kid playing rounders!
