No, just a 4 match series. Would have been better to play 3 or 5.

You'd think both teams would be wanting to play a decider.

My in-depth interview with the Deputy President of the Malaysian Cricket Association: http://malaysiacricket.wordpress.com/20 ... allipuram/

Fascinating to see how the team is turning more professional and the plans they have in store for the future.

So six teams will duke it out in Malaysia for the WCL div 3 title; Nepal, Uganda, USA, Bermuda, Singapore, and hosts Malaysia. I'm going for Nepal to win this, on account of more their players having their own wikipedia pages than the other teams.

There's a good preview for this on cricinfo;

http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci-icc/content/story/791389.html

In the opening matches, Bermuda and the USA have just kicked things off, with Bermuda losing a wicket in the opening over. Malaysia take on Singapore, and Uganda will be up against Nepal.

With the 2019 World Cup being reduced to 10 teams, which is a travesty, there really isn't much incentive for associate nations compared to before. A WC format featuring 2 groups of 8 would have worked nicely, but no, not according to the clowns who now run the game. I would love to have seen PNG and HK making their WC debuts next year. I need a drink!

2 groups of 8 would last too long. The 2007 format of 4 groups of 4 was best but seeing as India and Pakistan got knocked out early the ICC had to change it... :no

On the first day of Division 3, there was a surprising win for Uganda over Nepal despite being 23/5, Singapore edged out Malaysia while USA thrashed the almost certain to be relegated Bermuda.

I don't think it would be too long; 2 games per day x 4 days per round, x 7 rounds = 28 days, with QF's, SF's and a final - 6 weeks tops, which is how long the 2015 version will take.
