im in complete agreement with you yorker....the side needs to move on and if that means without KP then so be it!

So those 3 players are going to dictate who should be in the team and who shouldn't rather than the coach/captain? :facepalm :facepalm :facepalm :facepalm

Its a bit like a captain trying to dictate who should be coach and assistan coach, isnt it? :box

I don't understand why people are saying England can't be successful without Kevin Pietersen? Didn't we win an Ashes series in 2009 without him?
Anything can happen with a round ball.

Coz we're going up, and we'll win the cup, for Sussex by the Sea!

In the games without him, we won one, lost one and drew one. In the games with him, we won one and drew one.

We've won plenty of ODI series without him.

No, you drew 1-1 without him.

Of course long term you'll be fine, otherwise no one will ever be replaced.

Don't think anyone thinks England can't win without KP. Just that they think they're more likely to win with him.

England are definately a better side with KP in it. From an Oz point of view, he is their lynchpin. If this was a school cricket team, the situation with Swann, Broad and Anderson would see all four of them sitting on the sidelines. If only...

He was in essence told his career was over unless him admitted he sent them and apologise...... and, as said before, the people who have seen them who have a bitter relationship with KP over the years have said there is nothing to them.

He was also, of course, given the option to deny hed sent them. He says they were provacative yet others say nothing to them. How odd is that?

Anyway Radio 5 says he is not in India squad - but is delay in announcing it to assesss Bopara situation.

That’s interesting and not a little disturbing. I never saw or heard it reported that Pietersen was given an ultimatum to confess to something or lose his international career. That is disgraceful. Surely, we must all rally round in support of this much wronged individual.

Before we do, though, can we see the evidence?

Why should one demand evidence when to be honest there has been little to no "evidence" regarding almost anything that has actually happened. Take these text messages -or what ever technical specific they where - for example, it seems no one actually knows what was said aside from the player who sent them and the player who recieved them further more there is now no record of them so no one will ever no yet people feel free to pontificate over their content and importance no end.

When Vaughan's biography came out, he wrote about his dislike of Trott talking to and shaking hands with Paul Harris at the end of a test in 2008. The fact that Trott was not in the England team, simply there as a back up 12th man and he and Harris were great pals since their young days together, didn't save him from criticism by many fans.

Here KP is discovered secretly sending texts ( one of which was abusive to his team captain)to the opposing team during a game and many are rushing to his defence. All the talk of double standards by KP supporters looks pretty weak to me.
Those who claim no evidence exists about the contents of the texts should recognise that an English journalist wouldn't have been able to pull the word "doos" out of the hat without a deep understanding of Afrikaans. KP nor his agent have denied use of that word.
Work expands to fill the time available, so why do today what can be put off until tomorrow.

Quite correct Hope, you have evidence a single word was used. That's it.

Amazing how much print and text has been generated out of something when the entirety of the solid information is the use of one word with the only context being presented that it was used in relation to the captain. Of course by the way has never been shown that is was used in an offensive manner that has simply been infered by the definition of the word.

KP was spot on to call them provocative, look at how great of a responce they have provoked even from people who spend a great deal of effort ridiculing speculation on the issue.

The fact that Vuaghan was not telling the truth didnt help Trott either as I recall.

Now youve reminded me of that Im angry And I hope MPV gets voted out of Strictly in the first round.
