judging by Peter Moore's comments after the game, Cook's position, for the world cup, could be in jeopardy...which it really should be!!

I still think he could get a first baller and still be our WC captain.

The exact same comment was made during the India series at home.

Nothing wrong with Cook that a long spell on the farm wouldn't cure. 4-5 months should do it.

Wasn't there also a quote this week or last saying that he was guaranteed captaincy?

They don't have a clue.

Yes. My opinion is that Moores really had no intention of saying that Cook's position is for review.. He just felt trapped in the interview and couldn't think of what to say. Certainly, he said the review is routine, and they have previously stated Cook is going to the WC as captain, so this wouldn't be a routine matter.

Ian Ward missed a trick in the interview. When asked about Morgan, Moores said that he is in their 'best team.' If only the follow up question had been: 'Is Cook also in the best team?'

Although I guess it would have been batted away in the usual bland way...

we would probably have got an answer about all the "intangible" things cook adds just by being captain ...

He's effectively a non-playing captain. And a non-captain captain.
