Ballance has a great record in OD cricket though, and he has adapted to the international team very well this summer. He has both firepower and run scoring ability, it would be stupid not to give him an extended run.

You wont found a louder Hales supporter than me, but dropping Ballance for Hales is not an answer imo.

Bell is a better ODI player than Cook imo, so Cook is the one to go.

I do know what you mean though. They wont drop Bell or Cook from the ODI team, and I cant see them dropping Ballance either.....

Ie.... Hales wont get picked again

What they'll likely do is avoid the decision by resting Cook. They did the same with KP and Trott.

Probably the squad for this coming series won't give too many indications for the WC as a number of players will be rested. After the feelgood of a Test series win, it can't be forgotten that England's limited overs record recently has been woeful. So new players shouldn't be ruled out.

Anderson and Cook are both talking about playing, so maybe this mooted experimental squad won't happen.

I would like to have seen Cook, Bell, Anderson and Broad all left out for varying reasons - they' would remain in the frame anyway for the WC.

If he's fit and raring to go, Anderson should play.

I'm surprised that Broad lasted the test series, though he did look better at the end than at the start (apart from a couple of shiners), when he looked absolutely knackered. We have the replacements, though, that should mean he won't be missed.

average of 24 sr of 72 with one 50 in 14 games this year, he deserves to be dropped

how someone who bats down the order and quite often comes in during the last 15-20 overs can only have a sr of 72 is baffling

i am one of the people that thinks bopara's 108 ODIs is one hundred to many

No way is Bopara dropped, hes been rested, which is why he was played against NZ and SA A sides.
