well if jadeja plays, then based on form jadeja would have to play, meaning no room gor yuvraj, unless you leave out raina out of the odi side...

(sorry for making another thread  )

Start a thread on a player ratings system, CF. The CMS Player Ratings Scale is dying to be created. :thumb

Let's wait and see on Jadeja, can't keep on having these utterly awful games. Same with Ashwin tbf. Maybe we've been a premature to certify them for the future for performances against England...but it could also be that they both struggle a lot to bowl with a wet ball as I said earlier which you have to factor in a little for this series at the very least. 3 spinners was so crazy.

Dhoni on his reasons for playing three spinners on the slow turning tracks (right!) of Australia three matches in a row (and possibly another three going by his history):

"We also have to see the resources we have got. We don't have a fast-bowling allrounder. Irfan [Pathan] is a part of the side, but he has just come in."

"You have to decide if it is better to play with three seamers or sticking to three spinners. With pace comes the opportunity to score runs, so you have to be very consistent if you have to score fast."

Citation: http://www.espncricinfo.com/commonwealt ... 52240.html

The former, I suppose, is his attempt to explain Pathan's continued exclusion. The latter, I *think*, is his excuse for not playing Yadav or anyone who can bowl above 120 kph :facepalm

Yuvraj is daylight ahead of Jadeja and Raina.

But that's bs. He's played away ODI's since ever. He was picked for the England series before a foot injury or something that ruled him out of the champs league too. He played the SA ODI series. He's missed all the home ODI series since his 200 bar the WC games.

And then you look at the replacements, Rohit, Raina etc who are flopping in ODI's, he's still probably the best bet away from home. And this rotation thing has allowed them to play.

While I do expect him to probably retire from ODI's soon(simply because we don't have an away ODI series till end of 2013) I'm not sure it's affecting our WC chances in 2015 as much as what is reported.

It's weird how people have different standards for different players.

ddb,

dont India have the Asia cup coming up in March?

I also thought there was an ODI series against SL in July or is that off as well now?

Yeah but not sure he'll play that as he/selectors might take the same stance as they did to him playing in India.

That's on but I don't see he playing that as essentially it's a warm up to the world t20 (although we may have a NZ series in between)
