something funny going on in this game. After Lanning finished hitting every ball she faced for 4 runs, Sixers were reduced to losing wickets every other ball until they went off for rain. Were they having to bat in the rain?

they'll be hoping they don't have to come out again, but I'll bet you a way is found to get the 5th over in, even if the rain stops for a couple of minutes before immediately starting again once the players come back out

when today's WBBL match was abandoned at the interval I assumed it had rained. Turns out that while the players were warming up, a ball got caught up in the roller as the groundskeeper was rolling the pitch and it was inadvertently rolled into the pitch, changing the playing conditions sufficiently for the game to be abandoned

Durham should have tried that at Headingley on the final day of the season to take the risk of an embarrassing and shockingly incompetent batting collapse out of the equation

Not too surprising, I suppose, given her age. Seeing her on the commentary team throughout the Ashes series was a bit of a hint that she is looking to the future.

How will this affect the length of her husband's career?

I think it may extend it ....she was on willow talk the other day talking about having kids etc...she will be able to now, and Starc has made it clear he wants to continue playing tests so I don't think it will affect him to be honest

when my missus was pregnant at 30 and 32 she was classed as a geriatric mum

they don't bandy that term around until an expectant mum is 40 these days, presumably because so many women are starting a family much later in life

good luck to her. The time probably is right for personal and for cricketing reasons

She also has the podcast with Brad Haddin as Andy says, which seems to have took off. She seems quite a natural behind the mic, has a sense of humour, has something to say..... good luck to her.

As a footnote, its incredibly bizarre to see Brad Haddin trawling all the podcasts and being so likeable. I got the impression from his playing days he was the type that could start a fight in an empty room, but he comes across really well.
