At the time when Graves made those comments, no-one envisaged the ECB continuing to make personnel changes they did, least of all Andrew Strauss.
If anything, Graves has been undermined by the establishment before starting his new role.

Yep neither should be airing their laundry, but on this occasion Strauss has thrown the first piece over the line and he's the one in the authoritative position.
I'm trying to think of an incident in the Australian camp when it's happened. I guess the Laura Bingle affair involving Clarke wasn't great, although there were nude photos involved which is always a good thing. Perhaps we need some nude photos of Strauss and Pietersen walking on a South African beach together.
The Kim Hughes affair could do without being mentioned.
