However in 2013 his performances fell away so much that in 23 innings he managed only one century and six half centuries. If that didn't make it easy for them to decide that they no longer needed him I'll be amazed. The chances are that if it had been 6 centuries and 1 half century he'd still have been an England player.

What year was it he retired from ODIs ? then threw a tantrum ? was that pre-2012 ??

But as we know, the whole eleven were spiraling. KP covers that in his belief that micromanagement and the tour programme was burning the players out. If KP had to go on that account, so did Bell and Cook (and Trott and Prior).

They were not regarded as trouble makers as far as I know. But there you again using the 'comparisons of form when the subject is Pietersen. I should point out that at the end of the ashes series before he resigned, Flower said every player would be required to play CC cricket to prove their worth. Cook scored 386 runs in 3 games with 2 centuries, Bell 506 runs in 4 games with 2 centuries, both Prior and Trott well incapacitated. So the return of Cook and Bell was confirmed by their county form.

Didn't Prior play the first game and get a ton ?? before his calf/achilies started playing up ?

I think there was some statement from KP that he would not like to play under same management or coach or captain. His international career is almost over unless a miracle happens at the management as well as player level.

A shame if only because England lack any real star appeal. The new people being brought through the system like Root and Ballance, have done well, but aren't exciting players yet. Maybe Buttler will fill that role. Now KP has gone, probably only Cook has a recognition factor that goes beyond the cricket supporters.

If he did. And if the word means that. No one outside of the SA team has seen the texts. KP says he didn't say it, just didn't disagree with someone who said it. Maybe we'lll hear from the SA players one day. Flower made KP sign an affidavit to the point that KP never passed on info about the England team to SA. Which Kevin did, however crazy.

Strauss can't really contest his abuse of KP though, or what the word means.

The Afrikaans word doos (pronounced dose) is a little box, so when used sexually it refers to a woman's little box. I'll leave you work out the rest.

He's a replacement for Collier, and thankfully, not Clarke's choice. Clarke is thought to be on his way soon. Too late for KP though.

I'd love to see Clarke go. I always thought of him as the unpopular kid at school who always told teacher when someone was smoking behind the bike sheds.

Smith's view on the England side is rather interesting, especially considering what went on on their last tour.

It's been the subject of a lot of debate. Some say it's no stronger than idiot. Others that it isn't polite, but not the nuclear option that the C-word is. In English, there are many different words for vagina that carry a whole range of emphasis when used as swear words. From pussy to ****. Scots use tube to mean idiot, as it's an empty space. maybe box could be used as such. SA posters seem to suggest that it ranges in meaning depending on where you are (probably including NL).

If we were playing 'just a minute AC wouldn't last long due to repetition and deviation, I'd be out for irritation.
