Not sure DL why you are disagree with me.
If india are creating an ashes type rivalry with England then ECB would be on it as well.

India Vs England is quite lucrative money wise this series would probably earn ECB the most amount money ever should easily beat the 2011 figure.

Yes I agree with you this series not that big in England, which is why it would be beneficial for ECB to create an rivalry to increase attendances and improve viewing figures in TV.

You could even argue ECB wanted the money and wanted india vs England to be close to an ashes series.
India shouldn't even be in england in 2014 with them last being here in 2011.
Pakistan should be touring this year.
But ECB are more interested in the money India brings and if they was a rivalry between the two teams both boards would earn even more money.

Or perhaps they knew it was simply a lot of fuss about nothing.

It seems to me that one would have had to have witnessed the incident to say how well the ICC had handled it.

Ofcourse they knew. :facepalm

Why go on about this, the ashes rivalry is nothing to do with money, it's historical and money can't buy that.

Are you trying to say people (read ECB, ICC or BCCI) care about history more than money?

Rivalry between teams is not under the control of cricket boards, it's how the respective cricket fans view the opposition that determines rivalry. India v Pakistan is unlikely to be replaced by India v England/Australia in the minds of the respective fans.

Totally agree just replying to a comment saying it just a ploy by indians to create a rivalry close to the Ashes.

I highly doubt that was the case and if it was ECB would be on it as well.

Anderson apparently called Jadeja a fricking c*** and he would break his fricking teeth before pushing him to tell him to **** off to the changing room. Said it was self defence. And that he did go against the spirit of cricket.

He admitted to all this but got off.

For some reason cricinfo took down the article.

Maybe they took it down because they were unable to verify it's veracity.

I doubt it is true, Lots of Masala News emerging from india.
One saying Dhoni could be Sacked from India Captaincy for having a row with Srinivasan for not backing the players and doing a deal with ECB.
I doubt that is true if it was Anderson would have been charged for a level 1 offense.

Anyway lets forget this Telegraph reporting Rajan Madugalle has spoken to both team and I doubt we would see sledging.

Agree with Chappell on this Umpires have been pathetic on Sledging, if you allow too much sledging the chances are that it will get personal or Racial in it and players won't like it.

Also I disagree with Commentators saying sledging is part of the game, the sledging seen recently are not, I prefer the smart and funny sledging where you would mock batsman out of form or players that are known to do something silly and try to get in their head.

Swear Words, Sledging when the day or session is over is not on.

2004 Glen Mcgrath sledging to sarwan was a disgrace.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3smgICMarAo
A lot of the current sledging is going to that level, it is pathetic really since most of the time it has backfired on the bowling team, these types of sledging usually motivates the opposition not sure it is a wise thing or do.

This was a far better sledge from Mcgrath.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xbCy2_0_sKs
Showing the batsman what shot to play, no abusive words just advice.

Sledging is not all about Swear word and abusive.

Looks like everyone except Dhoni wanted to cover this up.

Starting with Cook saying its minor, then ECB's delayed reaction to file a charge in sort of a tit for tat response, then Jadeja's hearing heard before Andersons, the blatant lying of Prior and Stokes, then Stokes admitting Anderson pushed Jadeja, then both going scott free after Jadeja was found guilty by the match referee.

Now cricinfo taking down published articles. All pointing to higher authorities hushing up to avoid further embarrassment and controversy.
Leaves a bad taste, this whole episode.

Interesting. Sounds very believable. Why would India charge Anderson with a Level 3 charge without anything happening? I don't believe the crap that they wanted Anderson out of the series. Thats too cheap, India would never do that.

the hindustan times article is still there. Seems pretty likely that the reports are true

not surprised in the least, as I said right from the start of this - It's the way cricket still works - Eng or Aus v India / Pak / SL /Bangla ... for an Aus or Eng player to be punished there would pretty much have to be video evidence of a full on physical assault, and even then Jadeja would probably have been fined for being in the way of Anderson's fist. I've been proved right on this again - Anderson seems pretty clearly able to abuse at will with no danger of any repercussions - and has the full support of the Eng management and the ECB in behaving this way.

We had it last time Ind were here - pretty sure an ind bowler got done for nudging an Eng batsman but when Anderson did it to Gambhir there was not even a murmur.

The world really hasn't moved on as much as people like to make out - the nasty taste is still there and this incident is just one more example.

James Anderson was let off on the Level 3 charge of pushing Ravindra Jadeja during the Trent Bridge Test, but he admitted to having continuously abused Jadeja, pushing him and acting in breach of the spirit of cricket. He also threatened to break Jadeja's teeth, the BCCI's counsel contended while appealing the sentence earlier handed to Jadeja by match referee David Boon. That sentence was successfully overturned during the hearing on Friday in Southampton.

From cricinfo. So none of that is punishable!
