I personally find it rather amusing that people are taking Swann's comments with anything other than a huge pinch of salt. Swann has hardly been the model of modesty at any stage during his career, nor has he every really modelled team spirit. While I have little doubt people will use any comments Swann makes to further their own opinion of a player, the hypocrasy on display from England's former number 1 spinner is some what delightful.

If it was from a player who didn't have Swann's track record then it might be interesting, but it isn't.

I don't think Swann was bad in Ashes. You feel in 2010-11 Ando struck upfront and Swann did a fine holding job. In 2013-14 we all know what happened. People have talked so much about Swann and his ability to blah, blah, blah. I believe as he could bowl quicker through the air and still generate so much revs that helped him to succeed. Anyways just keep quiet for sometime ;)

Anderson on Swann
'Only he knows how much part was played by his chronic elbow injury. In the past he helped me take so many wickets by drying up runs or creating pressure at the other end'

Swann and Anderson

56 Tests together
2342.5-450-7033-236 ~ 29.80 econ 3.00 s/r 59.5 15/2 - Swann
2170.4-531-6266-219 ~ 28.56 econ 2.88 s/r 59.4 10/2 - Anderson

I still don't believe it was his elbow.
