Yep, they're definitely better than Zimbabwe and not too far behind Bangladesh, New Zealand and West Indies.

When Ireland produce a side trained in Ireland then maybe they should be allowed something.

Ireland were on the verge of victory but an outstanding partnership of 93 in just over 10 overs between Kamran and Wahab Riaz has sealed the game for Pakistan. Unbelievable fightback.

Indeed. I thought Ireland had them. Not only did Pakistan lose lots of early wickets, but they were also scoring slower than Trotty and Compo at Headers.

Well played Pakistan, but also well played over the 2 matches to Ireland. I don't believe that Pakistan thought that this mini series was going to be as close as it was.

I'm wondering if I've misread the reports as they mention the ICC final at Edgbaston. That would seem right as I can't imagine the final would be anywhere other than Lords.

I hope the CWC final is at Lord's, after all it is the home of cricket.

During the chat in the rain breaks today, Marks and Aggers were talking about KP not being sent out to talk to the press, apart from his innings in Colombo. In that interview, KP said he'd only answer three questions and specified the news outlet (one was by BBC, one by the Guardian, don't know the other). And Aggers/Marks mentioned a few papers he wouldn't take questions from. The Daily Mail is the only one I recall.

Quite understandable. I was surprised I'd not heard it before though.

World cricket wouldn't be the same if there wasn't something bonkers going on at the PCB and luckily they've saved up a cracker.

The High Court have suspended PCB chairman Zaka Ashraf for having a "tainted" election.

Pakistan are of course, currently on the ICCs hit list over political involvement in sport.

I think Aidan is getting it confused with the CT final this year, which is at Edgbaston.

Kinda a random thought, but if Ireland were granted test match status would Porterfield,O'Brien,Rankin etc. then be overseas players in the County Championship ??
