Hopefully he has gotten over his nasty (enough to go to the hospital) case of the sh*ts.

Technical flaw has come into Clarkes' batting against short ball.Morkel over to Clarke was made to look much better by Clarke taking eyes away from the ball.Just like what Suresh Raina does. The way he attempted to duck was totally wrong and hence he got hit near the neck.He is too classy a batsman to continue doing such basic technical errors over longer time.It will be interesting to see how soon he corrects this flaw.

I don't think he's ever going to correct it as he can't duck properly because of his bad back so he'll probably just have to take on the short ball.

This has been one of Clarke's best innings, IMHO. I hope he makes a double.

Not sure I really believe it is true about his back and the short ball. If it was that bad, he wouldn't be able to play any shots. Why is ducking any more off limits than a pull shot?

His back might not be able to take a hit but i guess it is probably good enough to duck as he has shown that he is able to bat for 301 balls so far. When the back is severely paining it even pains when the batters bend to take guard and wait for the ball to be bowled.

Much has been made of Clarke's dislike for the short ball;.

No batsman likes facing short pitched fast bowling ----- but some of them don't let on.

Michael clarke does not really have many faults as a batsmen but he has been founding wanting against the short ball against tall bowlers like broad. But i think its just more of a case of losing rhythm with it, he lost his natural head position and that caused all sorts of problems when it was aimed in at the shoulder/head height and slightly on the leg side its just something that cropped up and its something he will and probably already has ironed out.

One thing that has been noted as of late though has been clarkes less then gracious behaviour upon near victory, twice now to anderson and steyn... I expect better from a man who should be humble due to his own sides recent struggles

At least Clarke stands up to it, and lets hit him..PROTECTING HIS WICKET...Raina is spineless and dosent even try and see any off, he just slogs at them...

Yes, there is hardly any doubt that he plays such that he protects his wicket better than Raina does.
