Blimey! Is there an article about the spending?

Durham getting a bailout and Glamorgan receiving payment not to host test matches probably accounts for 10% of the reserves.

I do vaguely recall counties receiving interest free loans from the ECB to install floodlights, suppose the money has come from these reserves. Then there is "The Hundred" competition, which has supposed to have run up costs.

They are *modded* if the queen dies then lol.
When counties were complaining about the 70 million reserves when vast majority of the counties were in debt ecb said they needed the huge reserves just in case the queen dies in the wrong time or if bcci ***** them over in a home series.

Queen death is actually insane considering how many companies and institutions are shitting themselves of her death.
No idea why sporting contest have to stop for couple of weeks though.

I think the term is a period of national mourning.

Two weeks seems a bit excessive. After all, the queen is a sports fan. Surely she would want things to go ahead as planned. Especially horse racing.

Its true though, when they announced that they had the large reserves, they did essentially say that one of the reasons they kept such large cash flows in the bank was to cover for lost games if the queen died (actually they said senior royal family member), which to me would be bizarre.

Id celebrate Andy's leaving, but the news that he will stay on to find his replacement (and that Flower will once again step in during the meantime) makes me think that we might get another hopeless idiot in the form of a previous opening partner/bezzie into the role.

The ECB seem to be turning into a lads holiday camp. When Flower turns out to be terrible in everything he does, he just offers to clean the toilets to maintain his salary. Strauss shouldnt have been given the option to quit, but in doing so now reverts to a "hybrid" role, which in other words means hes on the payroll doing nothing.

Flower not taking the Lions to UAE. Thorpe has that job and will be better than Flower. Hope it's a permanent thing.

Director of Cricket - Stewart
England Test coach - Gillespie, assistant coach - Collingwood
England ODI coach - Farbrace
Lions coach - Thorpe
Essex coach - Flower :)

Just seen that Ali and Rashid could open the bowling in Sri Lanka. How would that go?

In the ODIs?

I presume they'd need a third spinner?

No, in the Tests.
Will the wickets be different as it seems to be the rainy season?

Telegraph
England’s options | Ins, outs and World Cup contenders
In: Eoin Morgan, Joe Root, Jos Buttler, Jason Roy, Jonny Bairstow, Ben Stokes, Moeen Ali, Chris Woakes, Adil Rashid, Alex Hales. Liam Plunkett.

Out (injury back-up): Jake Ball, Dawid Malan, James Vince, Liam Livingstone.

Contenders
David Willey: Had his best summer taking wickets with the new ball and showing maturity with the bat in tight situations. Spiky competitor. Out with a back injury.

Mark Wood: Popular and likeable, he is quick but the pace puts pressure on his body. Also needs more wickets. Has 34 from 34 games at 46. He is much better than that.

Olly Stone: Pace and bounce from a tall action, Stone moved ahead of the pack of young fast bowlers last summer and Morgan likes the fact he can bowl with new ball and at the death

Tom Curran: Adept at slower balls and the best death bowler in county cricket, the elder Curran brother also has the maturity to match his white ball skills.

Sam Curran: The breakthrough star of the summer in Test cricket, his left arm angle and swing bowling combined with nerveless batting makes him a natural for the one day side. World Cup might be too soon.

Sam Billings: Super talented batsman with 360 degree shot choice but has not made the big scores to force his way in the side. Fighting with James Vince to be the spare batsman.

Liam Dawson: Hugely respected on the county circuit for white ball skills. Left-arm accurate spin, good batsman and dogged competitor. Dawson is a good back up choice even if he lacks the Moeen-Rashid flair.

Overton played an ODI this year, but probably won't feature.

There'll be three more pace bowlers and a batter on top of the certs I expect. Willey and/or S.Curran will be one.

At the moment we have a number of people in the squad who can keep.

Bairstow, Buttler, Foakes, Pope, Burns

Mail
'Foakes, 25, is likely to play in Galle if Bairstow is ruled out even though England already have white-ball keeper Jos Buttler, who also kept in the fourth Test against India last summer, in their squad.

Buttler playing at no 7 with the intention of being the keeper, if they could just prise the gloves away from Bairstow. This would seem the ideal time but wait, Foakes is considered the best keeper of the 3.

f/c
89 matches 32.79 176c 2st Buttler (stumping every 44 games)
90 matches 40.64 174c 15st Foakes (every 6 games)
170 matches 45.19 443c 20st Bairstow (8 games)
James Foster every 4 games and Read every 6 games
