England are unable to avoid negative headlines.

From the outside there seems to be a bit of a problem, even if the media is jumping onto the smallest things to amplify them. I wonder who was the recipient was of the beer on the head, please be Jimmy, please be Jimmy:)

If this whole situation happened within the squad, and with only the ECBs choice guard on site, how is it even making the news?

It does feel that we're in for another repeat of the last tour where scapegoats were needed.

Wonder which 2 players from the test team facing the sack, isn’t moeen Ali and won’t be anderson so wonder which 2 players the management don’t like about their drinking and off field issues.
Suspect it will be some of the newer guys but can’t really see the likes of Vince, stoneman etc being any trouble always thought the senior players were the trouble ones.

Newman reporting 2 batsman in the test team/squad are playing for their futures in the rest of the last 3 test matches.
it isn't root, Cook or Ali/Foakes either.

the 6 that are not in trouble are Ali, Cook, Root, Woakes, foakes and Ball.

"There could be more like him. Bayliss feels badly let down by a minority of his players and there will be two batsmen at least playing for their international futures on the rest of this tour. Off-field behaviour will be top of the agenda when England come to pick their team for two Tests in New Zealand in the new year."

Newman making a good point here though which is surprising for him.

"But interestingly England have exonerated vice-captain Anderson from any blame for the incident even though it could be argued that he was in the wrong to be in that now infamous Perth bar in the early hours apparently having a row with Duckett. Could the senior players not have self-policed the evening?"

how are you making a strong example if Anderson is not taking any blame what so ever for the incident, he might be totally innocent and it was 100% Duckett but surely he should be punished even if a fine or what ever for being stupid enough to be in the bar and then did something that made duckett poor beer at him.

it is quite odd asking senior players to behave or not do anything stupid around beer and then when one of them does something stupid he gets away with it.
how is that going to make the senior players actually stop from doing anything stupid considering if they actually do something wrong they get away with it anyway.

At the very least Anderson should get a fine for his part in it and get a warning.

Anyway for the 2 batsman under pressure I am calling Bairstow and possibly Vince.

Can't see the likes of Stoneman, Malan being much of a drinkers, Bairstow would be interesting since he is a very important player for england, he does meet the requirement of a big player that been reported.
the others are not big enough and would probably get dropped without the drinking stuff anyway.

you can if you want lol.
TBH he could be fined for being in the wrong place in the wrong time, or just for being involved bit like in school where kids are having a fight over something small and the teacher just punishes both kids.
Doesn't make sense to let anderson off here and then state the senior players are not listening and are in denial of the problems surely the fact they are getting away with things means they are more likely not going to listen with what the management are saying.
