Pretty sure the ECB clarified he had not been suspended for the Ashes tour. He was simply dropped.

Can we go to the ground and sit in the stands and applaud a nice fifty or a wicket, ignoring the image of his extraordinary lack of control? It feels impossible. I'm not saying there's no way back, but he hasn't even begun to negotiate the journey. It shouldn't even be occurring to the ECB to recall him. What's going on here?

Eh, he played in the first test, I was right behind him when he was bowling England to victory, I think most England supporters were too.
I don't condone what he did, but he did it, he got tried for it, and found not guilty. I wouldn't want to go through what he went through, the possibility that you're going to get a criminal record, and at worst a prison sentence. He must have been crapping his pants for the last week.
He isn't going to change, he'll always have anger issues, he just has to find a way of managing them. This past week and the ten months before will have left an indelible mark in his brain, and I hope it will prevent a repeat.
I still don't know how he got over the 24 off 4 balls in the T20 final, so imo he must have some strong character traits in him. Lets hope they start to get a drop on the negative ones.
