I think the DM absolutely shed the last pretence of any credibility with the Wikipedia thing.

Now that Stokes (and Buttler, Morgan, Woakes, Roy, Mills, probably etc) has been awarded a huge IPL contract, I'm waiting for the ECB to leave his personal dossier in a desk at cricinfo and spill confidential contract negotiations to the media. Maybe the team mates who tried to get deals but were turned down will take the piss out of him in a fake twitter account?

I haven't checked but I presume Paul Newman is leading with an article labelling Stokes a mercenary who should be spending May playing for his county and preparing for England games.

I don't think KP , Ben , Windies cricketers care about what few critics say about their choices of earning more money. As if the people criticising them are doing social work and not expecting pay check for their months work.

Good for Ben. Nothing wrong with wanting to make that money, it's just a shame it took the sacrifice of one of our best ever players for people to accept that

Says the man who weighed down his own team for 128 ODIs by being boring, lacked invention, selfish and negative, and making sure they picked tripe limited overs/test specialist players on his watch. Strauss was a one day dinosaur and his teams consistently failed, and were 15 years behind the times.

What he says about the one day game I have no time for.

Of course, Strauss' job is secure and as we know, untouched by defeat. Is that going to be the same for Root and Bayliss when a predetermined, regimented way of playing leads to poor results? Not that I'm against an attacking intent and a change from the very attritional game played under Strauss and Flower.

Wow what planet is ECB living on if they think the rights will be worth 1.25 Billion pounds for its portfolio in the next tender.
will go from £75M a year to £230-250M a year.
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/cricket/2017 ... ll-rights/
They living at a different planet if they think the deal will reach the billion mark.
reckon ECB will get around 750M, still a massive increase from the current deal of £375M.

not sure ECB should expect 300% price increase on the rights considering outside football most of the other rights have only increased by 70% since BT Sports inclusion.

BT Sports weren't really a player last time, so they will be looking to get SKY and BT into a bidding war

i would assume they have had some initial discussions about how much people might pay as well

Doubt BT Sports or Sky have told anyone how much they would pay for the rights.
BBC/ITV yes but the pay broadcaster would keep quiet so the value they would pay doesn't leak to the other party.
1 Billion pounds is a lot of money for the cricket not actually sure Sky could afford that on top of the Football rights especially if they want to keep future premier league rights.
ECB will definitely get a increase in the value because of BT Sports inclusion and the bidding war but they living in a fantasy world if they think the rights will be worth the same amount as Champions league Football and touch the billion pounds mark when currently only Premier league football and Champions league football can claim that figure.

it should be noted the premier league tender should be out soon, if anyone bid close to a billion for the cricket it will seriously hamper what they can give for the premier league football.

how do you know they haven't talked to people to get a feeling for where to price the packages ? they will have put feelers out to see who might be interested, thats just common sense

end of the day just another anti-ECB rant bhav

Considering all the stuff bt sports and sky did to keep the premier league bids quiet and I am pretty sure sky and bt don't like people to know how much they would pay for the rights.
Anyway only one way to know who is right by waiting when the rights are announced.
But expecting billion pounds is not realistic.
And this isn't an anti ecb rant.
