Ajmal has had his new action tested. It's an improvement on the last test but he's still over the 15 degrees limit.

Shocked that nobody has reported Ambati. He throws 100% of the deliveries he bowls. Never seen such a frequent chucker bowler.

Ajmal reporting that most of his deliveries are now bowled legally. Should he be allowed back for the World Cup, does he get the same waiting period for another report or is he instantly banned from bowling?

Just heard that Hafeez has been tested but can bowl in this final Test. Didn't know he'd been reported but it was not before time.

Ajmal will probably go. In unofficial tests, all of his deliveries are now under 15 degrees. Will have an ICC test soon i think.

Is it just the case that any bowler trying to bowl anything other than an offie, a leggie or an arm ball can do so without throwing?

It seems to be the case now.

Has it always been thus?

Is it even possible to legitimately bowl variations, and has the 15 degree thing just muddied the waters sufficiently that any low quality spinner thinks he can gain some sort of advantage by pushing the boundaries, and bowling things that he simply hasn't got the skill to bowl, but does think he either can get away with, or ought to get away with, or doesn't understand the difference between what is bowling and what is throwing.

I confess that I now just assume that any delivery, that isn't a stock delivery or an arm ball, is being thrown.

Can they risk directly him for the WC without testing his new action in an actual international match to see how effective it is? Highly doubt it'll be anywhere near as effective. Didn't he say he has some disability arising out of an accident that prevents him from bowling within 15 degrees? And he must have had to fundamentally change his action to bring it down from 40 to 15? Its not a minor tweak. At this age, after chucking for more than 15 years, to suddenly bring the flex down by 25 degrees is not gonna be easy at all. He is not getting any younger and a complete liability in the other 2 departments. I don't see how they can pick him without testing his action in an actual international match.

Pak have enough spin bowling talent in my opinion not to take such a huge gamble. Hafeez is arguably a much bigger miss. Without him, the team looks horribly unbalanced, as we saw in the ODI series against Aus. Afridi at 7 is something that would have most decent bowlers salivating. Thats at least 3 places too high for him. Maybe they could pick both Hamnad Azam (once touted as the next Razzaq) and Fawad Alam (no idea why he's been dropped) in the top 7 and they could share the 10 overs with Younus Khan's part time medium pace as backup in a worst case scenario. Apparently the likes of Shehzad, Haris Sohail and Shafiq have been working on their bowling too. Its all a bit messy really.

Senanayake is in the SL 30. Feels like revenge of the chuckers. Him and Ajmal were the worst offenders.

Senanayake's action wasn't at all like a bowling action, he just threw the ball. It must be a whole new action.
