He scored plenty against england in the UAE

And given the struggles of masood and with younis/misbah nearing retirement they do need him

Yes, Pakistan supporters on cricinfo post like he's never scored a run. He's a heavy scorer, albeit in Asia.

averaging around 12 in 3 countries is quite poor and had a barren 2 years as well.

Really he was like vince a walking wicket no one would tolerate that especially since he was in the team as a bowler for a long time in the limited over/test team.

For Asian supporters winning outside asia is a holy grail in Test cricket and world cups in limited overs.

like English folks plan for Ashes success, Asians generally plan for overseas success and if they are not suited for it they generally get criticised a lot.
A bit like how most Indians fans don't want Shikar Dhawan in the test team.

Not sure I will class ashwin as chucking especially when he bowls in Test matches.
TBH from all the bowlers used in the series Root probably chucks the most, or broad faster/bouncer ball.

I often get the idea that slow bowlers look as if the chuck when they deliver the quick ball or the ball out the front of the fingers. Whether they are or not I wouldn't say. It's just looks wrong.

yep when they bowl quick they bend the arms.
but ashwin doesn't really bowl quick for an offspinner and think carrom ball is said to be the one where you can't chuck even if you tried to.
TBH even if Ashwin was close to chucking he wouldn't even be playing Ranji trophy let alone test cricket, BCCI quite strict on the rules.
TBH that one of the reason why England, Australia, India don't have many chuckers in the domestic game the bowlers are found early like leach was this winter.

me neither if he chucks then so many bowlers do.
TBH want Ashwin to get tested anyway he name been picked on since Ajmal, Narine etc been banned from bowling.

very odd considering before they got banned he was tagged for being a clean mystery spinner like Swann and soon as Ajmal, narine etc get tested he get called a chucker lol.

Ajmal, Narine, hafeez etc clearly chuck you struggling to find instances of Ashwin chucking.
if anything I find pace bowlers chuck more than Ashwin or some of the spinners these days.

In 2016-2017 Mumbai Cricket Association have banned 10 bowlers for chucking in domestic level matches (Kanga league) which is below Ranji level. They will have to get their action cleared until then they cant bowl in any MCA registered tournaments.

Its good to see chuckers forced to change action at that level as well.
