Pity nobody turns up :-)

Probably a more discerning crowd, less easily pleased than many who pack Lord's and the Oval.

Of course, having to shell out the best part of a quid an over may have something to do with it.

Ruddy expensive. The risk of bad weather never helps.

I think that prices to major sporting events are as much as they are because people buy them anyway. One day you would hope that people will understand that 20000 ticket sales at £20 each is better business than 5000 ticket sales at £50 each ................................ or have we got to wait until it happens?

Hopefully the drop in attendances this summer has alerted the ECB to the fact they can't go on like this. They have all those millions in the bank, it's time they gave something back to the paying public - reduced prices.

The prices are charged as high as they are to try and make a profit after the ludicrous bidding process.

That has changed now although I think 2020 is the year ECB allocation begins. Maybe then we will see something more reasonable.

ECB should learn from ICC when their run events in the UK.
Since 20 pound tickets generally means all icc event games in this country sell out although it probably does help india and pakistan have more demand than england games but even then games like Sri lanka vs NZ sells out.

yeah hopefully the counties set the prices.
guessing if they did it would probably be 10 pounds more than they set t20 blast tickets.
been to a couple of T20 blast games this season and been impressed with the ticket prices and what they been doing to attract people into the game, you get the impression the counties are more in line to what the crowd wants and how to get the most crowd, thinking of going to some one day games as well although do think the 4 day game tickets are expensive but then again the member tickets and season tickets are good priced so can't really complain about that, haven't actually been to a domestic game since 2009 when I saw middlesex in Chelmsford.

Where as I feel ECB are getting too complacent and assuming people would still pay and watch cricket.

Nice to see people voting with their feet although the signs have been their since 2012, but ECB had to organise 3 money making years to pay for the Stamford scandal can't believe people actually brought all the world cup crap lol, they didn't have the double ashes for the World cup lol they had it because ECB needed the money.
they had 4 money making series in 5 years.

Do remember most people saying after the disastrous winter ashes to wait for this particular season and saying crowd might not be great since Sri lanka and pakistan would be a hard sell especially if the prices are still high.
Next year might also be a tough sell since I doubt SA would get many supporters if pakistan was a tough sell.
WI will be empty as well.

There were more players than fans at Sabina Park today....

Would you go and watch such an uncompetitive team mike? I'm bot sure I would. I would want to see a proper match.

No, I wouldn't...and I say that as someone who used to go to every Test match at Sabina Park in the 1980s and 1990s.

But would I go to watch the West Indies play T20 cricket? I've done that in the recent past, and I will do that again....

Another poor crowd is expected at edgbaston again this week and the cricket journo are starting to report it.

newman called it disappointing.

found it odd that newman only saw the poor crowds now considering the sign were apprenent 3 months ago, although loads of sign that counties/ people just think people will turn up to the games.

funny part is the crowd doesn't look too bad on tv.

quite baffled where the people are considering reports were tickets were selling fast/good for this game?

Attendances are normally low against the weaker side at the start of the summer

although believe attendances for that were lower than normal and ticket sales for pakistan were at an all time low for the main summer series.

only lords have done well this year.
oval struggling, edgebaston struggling, old trafford struggling and then the two northern grounds in may which wasn't really a surprise.

Next year should confirm the trend or reject the trend.
personally don't think SA would sell either and quite obvious WI won't sell out either,

Really at the moment can't see many test barring Ashes and maybe some india test selling out.
suspect most India test would have 1-3K ticket available with all the rest having about 40% of tickets available when the games starts.

I know a fair few people who normally attend tests who were reluctant to go to a Pakistan test, My father certainly had to be persuaded to buy a ticket for the last series after the refusal to take the field at the Oval in the previous series. Then of course there was the spot betting issues. So I suspect some supporters may be unhappy enough with Pakistan to forego their usual test match.
