Birmigham
Sandwell (part of Birmingham essentially)
Wolverhampton
Leicester (what, about 30 miles from Birmingham).....

No test at Edgbaston? Who made that decision

I remember reading that Sport England's contribution to English cricket was nearly as much as Sky's contract in the late 2000's.

Leeds and Bradford must be well up there too.

I think, and I can be corrected, that the Asian populations that make up the Leeds-Bradford area is vastly more Pakistani in origin. Something like 25% in Bradford, with only say 1-2% Indian.

I suppose Hampshire calculated they could make more money selling tickets at £60 than lower and hoping for more sales, though.

I believe alot of the tickets were sold, but due to railway work, people were unable to attend.

Would many people pay 60 quid and not go?

Indian community is huge in London too. I am surprised that anywhere would be bigger?

Anyhow is the system now part-rotation and honouring existing guarantees of matches with the leftovers bidded for?

That was what Headingley were banking on for their neutral test series with Australia a couple of years back but it failed spectacularly.

They split the figures into individual boroughs, but yeah, together it would be much bigger.

A lot of money for a ticket in a recession, especially when Bradford area is supposed to have a really bad employment ratio.

Actually the biggest indian communities is in London.

But yes Stupid Edgbaston didn't get a test, they probably wanted ODI and T20 since that would probably make more money.
Cheap to host it compared to a Test match.

Nope Edgbaston definitely wanted a test. They've had two years without a major test, it's disgraceful.

Yet they had one when they were re-building. Stupid!
