Ballance for Trott, Moeen for Swann, Buttler for Prior.
Possibly Woakes for Bresnan given he plays all fomrats? And Plunkett for Finn?

If Bresnan gets a central contract that would be a disgrace.
I know many people like Bresnan here but is he really in England first team plans in all formats or more importantly the Test Team.

Be interesting if Robson gets a contract or only Cook gets it which would mean England are not sure on the opener yet.

cant see any way robson gets a central contract and will be very surprised if Lyth isn't opening with cook in the WI in april

Buttler, Ballance and Ali will surely pick up contracts, Stokes might do, but I think it is unlikely.

Buttler bloody well pick up a contract so we can get in some new players!

Moeen Ali Anderson Ballance Bell Broad Buttler Cook Finn Jordan Root Stokes Woakes all get central contracts.
Robson doesn't get one which is no big surprise.

Incremental contracts awarded to: Ravi Bopara, Alex Hales, Eoin Morgan, Liam Plunkett, James Tredwell
Robson not included here might mean he isn't in consideration for opening slot.
Full Central contracts were given to players playing in all formats, with one format specialist given Incremental contracts.
Plunkett might be a Test specialist.

I doubt whether many would have predicted that list at the end of of last summer's Ashes.

Can't complain much about any lack of 'new faces ' either. Ali, Ballance, Buttler, Jordan Stokes and Woakes - well done to them.

It might have been a tortuous route but then a side falling apart and then being rebuilt usually is.

Still a 'work in progress' - but you can say that about many aspects of life and work.

A tad surprised by Woakes, Stokes and Jordan. The absense of Robson is interesting, Lyth is in blistering form, will it be a shoot out or will Robson be given on more chance?

agree about Woakes, Stokes and Jordan..none of them are confirmed in any of the side as yet....IMO Lyth will get the nod against the windies, but i wouldn't completely write Robson off.

Considering Finn hasn't played tests for over a year and only a couple of ODI games he's lucky to have kept his contract. Perhaps they a have a guilty conscience about ruining his bowling. Surprised about Woakes and especially Jordan but not Stokes.
Work expands to fill the time available, so why do today what can be put off until tomorrow.

That or having him on Incremental contract might be costly for ECB especially if the Central contract people don't play for england.
ECB also want to control the pace bowler work load so I suspect that is why he got picked and having 6 bowlers in it.

Must have cost ECB quite bit of money this year for having so many incremental contract's being first team members.

Think this has hit the nail on the head, its a way of monitoring Finn and interjecting wherever possible, thats either a positive or negative, however you want to look at it.

Problem for Robson is that he is only in contention for a test place, and there isn't another test match until April-ish.
Lyth and Robson will presumably be vying for the opener test slot when they open for the lions over the winter. (I presume there are lions matches over the winter?)

I think some of them are surprising and some less so. I think the award of incrementals to Bops and Tredwell suggests that they know the ODI side.
