One name that you might have expected to figure is that Harry Gurney but no incremental contract for him.

That is actually a good point lots of people forgot about him, Maybe Selectors have decided he won't be in the ODI plans.

I get the impression that it's just a case of adding up points, with a little bias towards pace bowlers.

Looks like Plunkett won't be considered for ODIs.

I thought that's exactly how incremental contracts were decided tbh , you earn points for appearances and if you have enough points in the respective period you got an incremental contract

gurney may not have played enough games yet to be entitled to one

They slightly changed it this year.
Probably because some counties complained last year for not having enough warning to prepare for the domestic season. Last year Durham were complaining about Stokes possibly missing most of Durham games but Durham couldn't afford to replace him because he didn't have an English contract yet.

Buttler, Ballance and Ali also added this time round. Hales, Bopara, Morgan and Tredwell get incremental deals so counties can plan early tweet from Dean Wilson.

All the players not included in the Incremental Contracts have to earn them by the point system.

I posted this earlier:

Additional Increment Contracts can be automatically earned by players by accumulating points for England appearances throughout the contract year. Five appearance points are awarded for a Test appearance, and two for an ODI or T20 appearance, with an Increment Contract awarded to any player accumulating twenty appearance points.

So Gurney would have needed to play 10 single innings games between 1st Oct. last year and end of this month. clearly he's not going to the WC or they could have awarded him a contract based on expectation that he would play a lot next year.

Surely there must be some individual judgements made somewhere along the line? If any contract were awarded solely on the value of points earned for appearances wouldn't Robson be in there somewhere?

Merely to award contracts on a points basis is truly ducking responsibility.

Is this the ECB's frequent flyer programme?

Yep they don't see Gurney or Robson in their plan or are not sure on them.
Although it doesn't mean Gurney isn't going to the World Cup or Robson won't play Test Cricket next year.
It just that ECB can't take the risk of them not playing and causing chaos to counties Squads and finances.

Kipper if you go to page one of this thread you'll find I posted the process the ECB follow for awarding contracts. They do have flexibility in awarding contracts based upon future expectations.

Robson had an incremental contracts last year because of playing 7 test matches but next year england don't see him playing 5 test matches or getting enough points to earn a contract.

Normally ECB don't release Incremental contract at the same time as the full contracts but Counties didn't like having to wait for the money after the event and wanted prior knowledge so they can prepare without those players.
Bopara, Tredwell, Hales, Eoin Morgan and Liam plunkett were awarded contracts before they even earned 20 points.

Bn if you read the ECB process for awarding contracts posted on page one of this thread you will see there are two ways of getting an incremental contract, either by a point system or if a player is expected to play a significant role in the next 12 months. Clearly those players meet those expectations. Anyway Morgan, and Tredwell must have earned 20 points during the last twelve moths as well.

Yep you are right but this is the first time ECB have announced Incremental contracts at the same time, they normally just wait until ODI games are played or when the players reach 20 points.
last year Morgan and other players got incremental deals on December.
http://www.ecb.co.uk/news/articles/five ... -contracts

By the way the point system are reset on October 1st and last year points or the current season points are not relevant.
So Robson 7 Test matches or Gurney current points don't count.
