Really? Looks like the most dynamic squad England have selected for goodness knows how long.

Of the selected squad, this would be my XI

Roy, Hales, Taylor, Root, Morgan, Buttler, Willey, Rashid, Plunkett, Wood, Finn.

stokes will play ahead of willey you would think

Willey being a left arm bowler makes him a certain starter.

"They took all our players away, banned our captain and we still came away with a ten-wicket victory" Jason Gillespie
"You won't get anywhere slouching about half out of bed" Geoffrey Boycott

Hard to get Stokes in with Morgan picked so, I think this is realistic. Maybe a bit unlikely Jordan won't be picked.

Stokes is a certainly imo with either Plunkett or Wood omitted.A few more failurrs from Morgan and surely he's got to go.

I'm not sure England can rely on Stokes to bowl ten overs though, with no Moeen as a reliable other option. He seems a bit of a risk as one of five bowlers, and out of position at seven. My preferred team from this squad is:

Hales
Roy
Taylor
Root
Buttler
Stokes
Willey
Jordan
Rashid
Wood
Plunkett
-----
Morgan
Finn
Billings

It has better bowling options. Fitting Morgan in makes the team look weaker.
I always say that everybody's right.

This bowling attack could be very expensive. Wouldn't be surprised if NZ make close to 400 in one of the matches.

More than JD?

Maybe it will. I expect it will. But the bowlers they are taking over from, the seamers anyway, were frequently shredded. It's a low bar.

Bell (262) was the highest run scorer for England in WC. He gets dropped. Joe (202) was the second highest run scorer for England. Moeen (192) who was 3rd highest run scorer is dropped as well.Ideally a team looks to retain their top scorers but England are using reverse logic in dropping in form batsman and keeping out of form batters in team. This is not the first time that England selectors have used such tactics though. Again, the captain should be struggling to even make the second 11, but he is made as the captain of first 11. Apart from Joe and Jos everyone in that team is miserably out of form in ODI's. Add to it lot of inexperience. Whereas NZL are rocking having being finalists of WC and they unlike England are retaining their in form players. We will see soon whether this dynamic team actually wins them matches or not. To me this is another selection blunder which will lose them this series as well.

I think Bell and Ali have been 'dropped' in hope they will find some red ball form, with the ashes coming up. You could argue this is wrong, and we should be treating ODI's with more importance.

Already the performance has been disappointing as England failed to qualify in WC and to make it worst they lost to Bangladesh. Another series loss against an in from Kiwi team at full strength will have a more devastating effect. Even kiwis who were finalists are not complacent. India have sent a full strength squad even against Bangladesh in conditions which are very familiar to India. England should be the last team to be complacent or last team not to give any importance to this format.
