He's only got one tick in the 'who should England keep' vote on here.

I think most of the people who defend dropped players support their county.

When Bopara was left out last summer, quite a lot of people wondered why. But there haven't been many murmurings about him being left out of the WC team.

I would have liked him to play, if he was going to bowl. There wasn't much point in him playing once his bowling was made redundant in the warm ups.

his bowling isn't good enough if he is going to be the 5th bowler and his batting isn't good enough if he is the 6th bowler

a few overs against Afghanistan in wet conditions doesn't mean anything

Well, I wouldn't pick him now. Stokes can fill that role.

yep and hopefully david willey can stay fit as well to give us another all-rounder, left handed as well

I think you underrate Moeen as his bowling was actually quite valuable.

Poor old Buttler wasn't really given the chance to show what he can do. He only faced just over 100 balls in the tournament, and clobbered them with a strike rate of 140+. Ok, he didn't have many not outs, but he was on a hiding to nothing at 7. You either come in on the back of a platform and need to score quick runs (with the chance of getting out), or come in with the team 5 down and struggling and have too much to do.

Imagine if he'd come in higher up the order against Sri Lanka, Bangladesh or Scotland.

His keeping was also good enough that no-one is mentioning it, which is pretty much the mark of a decent keeper. You only pay attention to them when they make mistakes.

I'm not sure that Willey is an international class cricketer, although he has done well for us on many occasions.

we'll never know until we try him and he has earned a chance I think

he cant be any worse than bopara coming in at around #7

Willey would probably be batting at 8 or 9 if he's picked in the England side.
