I wonder how he died...that's the question that tends to come to mind when a fit, young 22-year old dies. However, the media stories don't seem to have any idea....

Could be weeks/months before a cause of death is established. A while ago Lancashire 2nds and Leeds/Bradford bowler Tom Hardman suddenly passed away at 21, his cause of death initially confused medical experts.

Some more info was announced this evening: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/35218643

He was found in a house in Scotland on Saturday morning, police investigating but it's currently unexplained not suspicious.

"A cricketer who plunged to his death at a country house is believed to have fallen asleep on the roof. Sussex fast bowler Matthew Hobden, 22, was found dead last Saturday at an exclusive Scottish estate. It is understood he and other guests had gone up onto the roof the previous evening to look at the stars. One line of enquiry is that Matthew then fell asleep and was disorientated when he woke, and tragically fell to his death."

Andy Ganteaume of the West Indies has died. I think best known for being the only cricketer with a better average than Bradman. He played one game and scored a hundred.
