Attack - Year - Total Wickets in an year

Jasprit + Shami + Ishant - 2018 - 136

Morkel + Ntini + Steyn - 2008 - 123

Ambrose + Marshall + Walsh - 1988 - 118

Morkel + Philander + Steyn - 2012 - 108

The stat is wrong. Donald and Pollock I believe both took historically large totals in 1998 (Donald I believe 2nd most of all time, Pollock was top 10 for a pace).... together they must have taken around 150-160 wickets, which I believe stands as the record for a new ball partnership. Add in someone like Kallis to the three, who played in all their tests that year, you are left with an amount comfortably above any of these totals. Maybe even Fanie De Villiers, although he retired after the Australia series and didnt tour England.

Since August 1, 2014, there are only five players in world cricket who have the combination of 3000+ runs and 150+ wickets.

Reckon you can name them?

Simon Harmer’s first class wickets by year:

2017 - 102
2018 - 106
2019 - 99

The last bowler to take 100+ wickets in three consecutive calendar years remains Shane Warne (2004 - 2006).
