Most wickets by Pace attacks in an year. Indian pace attack tops the all time list.

Attack - Year - Total Wickets in an year

Jasprit + Shami + Ishant - 2018 - 136

Garner + Holding + Marshall - 1984 - 130

Morkel + Ntini + Steyn - 2008 - 123

Ambrose + Marshall + Walsh - 1988 - 118

Morkel + Philander + Steyn - 2012 - 108

Good stat though.

This year: Bumrah-9, Shami-12, Ishant-11= 32.

1984: Garner-15, Marshall-15, Holding-10= 40

But the WI three took 195 wickets to India's 136.

SA trio took 171 in 41 games accumulatively in 2008. And 120 in 29 in 2012.

WI took 144 in 33 games between them in 1988.

The India total is right though. 136.

I got it from here. The added wickets taken by Indian pacers after that during third test.

Nope, I got it from screenshot which I have posted in post above this.

Must mean playing in the same games together. Maybe the WI three didn't play so much together in 84. Though I suspect it's wrong as WI are 59 wickets ahead including all their wickets in the year. The India total includes the Melbourne Test.

The stat is wrong. Donald and Pollock I believe both took historically large totals in 1998 (Donald I believe 2nd most of all time, Pollock was top 10 for a pace).... together they must have taken around 150-160 wickets, which I believe stands as the record for a new ball partnership. Add in someone like Kallis to the three, who played in all their tests that year, you are left with an amount comfortably above any of these totals. Maybe even Fanie De Villiers, although he retired after the Australia series and didnt tour England.

Kaliis - 24
Donald - 80
Pollock - 70

Total - 174.

All played in every single one of South Africas 14 tests.

Its scary what South Africa could have achieved had Brett Schultz and Fanie stayed fit. Imagine trying to bat against that four man attack, with someone like Symcox and Pollock being able to bat and maybe offer spin into the equation when needed, so you can play all 4 together.

Theyd have crushed batting line ups to dust. Its obvious though with Kallis taking 24 wickets in 14 tests, by far the best 3rd bowler they had in 1998, that the fall away from the opening partnership was marked due to consistent injuries to their seamers. Ntini appeared at Headingly for the first time, but looked raw. His upwards motion I think met the then declining Donald, so the three never really peaked as a team sadly.

It seems to be shown by broadcaster so doubt it is wrong. Perhaps it is case of some conditions like trio bowling together in all matches or something else.
