rock and a hard place for the ICC

What's buzzing in the world of cricket....

rock and a hard place for the ICC

Postby backfootpunch » Sun Oct 25, 2015 10:50 pm

it is looking like it will not be safe enough for pakistan to play in the T20 world cup in india

things like aleem dar needing to be withdrawn from the current series show this, and the head of the PCB has made it clear he doesnt think it is safe

so the ICC has a choice, play a T20 world cup without one of the better sides or move the tournament from india

playing the tournament without one of the major nations would cheapen the tournament, but on the other hand the ICC dont seem to want to annoy the BCCI as they hold the purse strings

would this movement of a tournament even be possible?

Well, its time the world looked at the real issue and did something about it.
Everyone knows the Mumbai attacks of 26/11 happened and were controlled from the Pak soil. Osama stayed in Pak for many years. Dawood, who is the main accused of the 1993 Mumbai bombings, stays in Pak.
This "ally on war on terror" is just a smokescreen and the real problem will not be addressed by the western powers as long as it doesn't affect them.
If the world stands up against terrorism honestly we wouldn't have so many issues in this world.

India can't fight a nuclear nation on its own. All it can do is prevent Pak playing cricket on its soil.

Its time the sentiments of those whose near and dear ones get killed due to this terrorism gets acknowledged. By everyone.

Is not that simple mainly because both sides are using politics to disrupt the cricket.

PCB are threatening a pull out because BCCI are not touring or playing Pakistan in December and are basically using the excuse of them not allowed in Mumbai to cancel it.

And in india the main government don't want India to play pakistan in the foreseeable future.

Apart from Mumbai and Shiv Sena strongholds Pakistan could travel to india safety and Aleem Dar, Akram, Akhtar and many more have been in India so many times in recent times with no security issues, they even had no issues in Mumbai.

This was a publicity stunt by Shiv Sena to cancel the series and PCB are mostly pissed because it was planned and Staged affair with Camera present and BCCI basically letting it happen and wasting PCB time.

ICC got a very hard job on it hands considering both parties are playing games and will give a bad name to the sport.

If they cancel or move the tournament ICC will lose big bucks and would possible cause issue considering india is scheduled to host 2021 and 2023 ICC events and will give PCB more opportunity in the future to cause mayhem if they don't get their way.
They play the tournament without pakistan then the entire tournament will be under the shadow of no pakistan.

Essentially this article explains why pakistan are doing this.

PCB feel it was conned in signing the big 3 by BCCI/ECB/CA and essentially the only actual board that has the power to rebel against it.

Also how can ICC act when PCB themselves are quoting this.
The Pakistan Cricket Board warned their government "will say don't go" if India do not agree to a series this winter.
Apparently it is fine to play if India comes to the UAE but not safe if they don't.

Anyway Shiv Sena are also a disgrace.

I assume this board fighting is the reason why the World Twenty20 are yet to be released. Seems odd that there are no fixtures with 4 and a half months remaining, won't have minded looking into the viability of taking in a few World T20 matches myself.

Dharamsala to host India-Pak on March 19. Semifinals to be played in Delhi and Mumbai.

Be awkward if Pak get into the semis although they probably play in Delhi.
