It might work out that way, but he was given a choice and told his decision would not be held against him. And so it shouldn't be. But I wouldn't be surprised either if Strauss and the ECB overlook their assurances, as they did with KP, should they find it convenient.

Even before Bangladesh was mentioned three places were in question Hales, Balance and Vince. I doubt if Hales would have kept his place as he kept on getting out the same way. The same with Vince. Dropping 3 players at once didn't seem ideal and Ballance would be the lucky one to keep his place. I expect Rashid to take one of the places and Hameed the other.

Cook Hameed Root Ballance Ali Stokes Bairstow Woakes Rashid Broad Anderson

Hales 18.12
Vince 22.27
Ballance 27.85

Aggers agreed that Hales will be out of the test side for the foreseeable.

Same here, would prefer Root and Bairstow to play in Yorkshire's final two County Championship matches instead of resting for a nothing tour. I'm interested about security arrangements when it comes to airport transfers, according to a former work colleague who travelled to Bangladesh on business it is not as tight compared to a developed country.

When the 7/7 bombings occurred in London, Australia could've chosen not to tour...instead, every Aussie player toured England.

It's sad that some England players don't show that same level of solidarity with other countries trying to fight terrorism.

Bangladesh were in UK that summer. Not sure they will have still been here at the time of the London bombings. Probably not.

Even the Barmy Army aren't going.

The two attacks are incomparable, for a start there was no political unrest in Britain during 2005.

Some things are more important than playing cricket and if Hales and Morgan don't want to tour for legitimate safety concerns, that is more than reasonable.

Couldn't make this up and the tour is still going on and top of that ECB persuading players to play the bangladesh premier league and which the PCA said they shouldn't be going to lol.

Josh cobb and Tymal mills have signed for the 20/20 league.

Aggers was asked if he felt in any danger out in Bangladesh and he replied not at all. I see there are a small handful of England fans out there who probably don't have any security at all. Some of media, who stay in the England bubble, have been out on runs and I imagine that some guards have to follow them. By jeep or on foot? There are also been a trip to the British High Commission for the players.

Also to Bangladesh
Ravi Bopara - Dhaka Dynamites
Riki Wessels - Khulna Titans
Benny Howell - Khulna Titans
Richard Gleeson - Rangpur Riders
Ashar Zaidi - Comilla Victorians
Samit Patel - Rajshahi
Tymal Mills - Chittagong Vikings
Josh Cobb - Barisal Bulls

South Africa should call off the tour of England because it's too risky.

Terrorism in England seems to be different from terrorism in bangladesh. One law for the Meads and another for the Persians.

I find these different stances so hypocritical. If you're going to make a united stand against terrorism then stand with Bangladesh too.

England didn't call off the tour of Bangladesh, so I don't see your point......

Good point Mike. We mostly don't equate the two. It could easily be an issue going into the CT. I'd guess presidential levels of security won't be offered.
