What's buzzing in the world of cricket....

I said I'd do this on the 10th of Jan, but that feels ages off. So I'll bring it forward to next Friday. Plenty of regular posters out there whose choices I'm desirous of seeing. PMs ok. Would be great to see the picks of many informed occasional posters too.

5 Test Players of the Year Kohli, Ashwin those two names being so obvious, Bairstow for scoring all around the world and being solid in Asia, most improved cricketer of the year, Azhar Ali should get it for averaging 67 in a year of tough away tour and that to with him struggling in England with a technical flaw and then fixing it in the same series and last one was Starc bowled the best this year. special mentions to Smith, pujara, herath and Rabada but been a high standard year for performances so they miss out.
5 ODI Players of the Year Warner 7 hundreds, Steve smith 3 hundred and consistent run scoring, Quinton De kock, Kohli and Starc
3 T20I Players of the Year Kohli, Maxwell and Bumrah
Associates Player of the Year Rashid Khan
Women's Cricketer of the Year suzie Bates
Captain of the Year Misbah
Emerging Player of the Year Jayant Yadav only real debut player this season that actually played well or under 25 with less than 10 test before the year that played well
Spirit of Cricket Award Pakistan
Umpire of the Year erasmus
Young Player of the Year Mehedi
Best Bowling Performance by a player (Tests) Herath 8/63
Best Bowling Performance by a player (ODI's) Narine 6/27
Best Batting Performance by a player (Tests) Kohli 235 had to be considering the other high scores were done on flat deck but he did it on a tough result wicket in mumbai.
Best Batting Performance by a player (ODI's) De kock 178
Test Match of the Year I personally enjoyed the mumbai test the most since the bowlers had loads of help and we saw some world class batting.
ODI Match of the Year Can't actually remember any, don't think I watch any this year.
T20i Match of the Year England vs South Africa world record chase.
Overall cricketer of the year Kohli

1 Cricket Major
2019 IPL Season.

Maybe include this next time. If I had a choice this year it would be England's over rates, or SA lawyer friendly reaction to FDP's ball shenanigans.

Well he was my top pick for "biggest on field ar*ehole", "least funny off field vlog (shared with Woodie)", "worst over of the year and "worst crumble under pressure of the year" and "player to score most runs after drops, missed stumpings and being bowled when the stumps dont break of the year".....

None of these were available, so I had to fit him in there somehow.

Maybe have to introduce the Graeme Smith cup for luckiest player. Glenn McGrath trophy for worst sledger. Stuart Broad shield for crappest over etc. Don't know why there are no negative categories.
