So ... I'm saying

Rahul
Vijay
Root
Kohli
Pujara / Nair
Parthiv
Ashwin
Jadeja
J Yadav
Shami
Broad

possibly the most one-sided of these that I've picked

Probably reasonable to pick eleven Indians.

Root gets in ahead of Rahane. And Broad/Stokes arguably get in ahead of a fourth Indian bowler. But you could make a case for eleven Indians.

Same as England in Australia 2013-14. Only Broad would make the composite XI then, and possibly Stokes (and only then because Bailey failed for Australia).

Rahane doesn't get in the Indian team of the series though.

Going on the FL, Moeen was a huge points scorer.

Root is giving me a Gower vibe. What you get is plenty, and more than you get from the others. But is it as much as you should get?

If picking on how much he controlled the destiny of the series, he wouldn't get in. If picking on the ability he showed, an obvious pick. He's one of the best players on either side.

So, unfortunately I'm doubting him on narrative and character. In terms of the story of this series. Scores extremely high on talent though.

Hard to pick two pace bowlers who bowled so little and took so few wickets. Pace was so marginal.
